This week our Gracie jiu-jitsu class is studying methods to get into the mount position from a side control position. The mount position is considered one of the most dominant positions to be in if you are in a ground fight. You have opportunities to strike the opponents as well as opportunities to do joint locks on them. Also if you are smaller than your opponent, the mount position is one of the best positions to be in in order to control that opponent.
